Ferrari may want to play it safe with Luce. Build another small hybrid, stretch the V8 generation a little longer, and keep traditional customers cushty for a few extra years. Instead, they built a full EV with about 1,000 horsepower and pretended to look irresistible made for the most herbal lot inside international.

That takes confidence. or jealousy. Sometimes both.

Luce doesn’t scream interest visually either, which definitely surprised me. Most modern supercars seem to have been designed on some level of conflict between an aerodynamic engineer and a YouTube algorithm. This side is quieter. The cleaner. Ferrari dressed the car in faux aggression and hardened the exterior surfaces.

It still looks good though. Very expensive.

The surface phase is probably a first-class attitude. Wide hips, low stance, narrow light. At night it has the quiet risk that older Ferraris carried without trying too hard.

Ferrari Moved While Lamborghini Hesitated

Lamborghini talked for years about electric-powered performance almost like a person testing cold water with one foot. Concepts emerged. Large guarantees count. Then delays started appearing as well.

Ferrari just went ahead and built factors.

And in reality, that difference suggests Luce. It doesn’t feel like a nervous logo when you use energy. It seems Ferrari decided early on that electric cars were inevitable and figured out the most efficient way forward by making it behave like a Ferrari anyway.

Older Ferraris made the importance of speed loud and passionate. Luce makes the exercise experience heavy and light. Like Auto already solved the problem taking over the brain.

And due to the fact that the screeching engine doesn’t warn you how fast it’s happening, you come across as arriving at profoundly irresponsible speeds without immediately realizing it .

It requires some recalibration.

Yes, It’s Electric. No, It Doesn’t Feel Dead

Below that sits a 122 kWh battery % paired with an 800-volt smartphone and accelerates charging to 350 kWh.

The burden is there. obviously. Physics doesn’t suddenly disappear because the label says Ferrari.

But Luce doesn’t feel lazy at all.

Ferrari tuned nicely across the mass instead of pretending he didn’t exist. The front suspension reacts sharply, the chassis rotates naturally, and the rear end, however, is rounded enough to remind you that this isn’t some bulky luxury equipment pretending to be sporty

That’s probably the most unusual thing about Luce. There is still concern in this.

Modern EV performance engines usually feel too polished. Very perfect. They take endlessly, boost up endlessly, and then five minutes later you remember them gone.

However, Luce feels sleepy under you.

Sometimes even barely stubborn. Good signs.

The Cabin Still Has Ferrari Weirdness

Inside, Ferrari thinks Ferrari does things.

Half of the control lies immediately in the steering wheel once again. There are indicators. There are ways to drive. Touch-and-touch buttons anywhere because apparently Ferrari designers take pleasure in alienating owners mildly annoyed.

Which doesn’t actually happen.

At least Ferrari stopped adding embarrassing fake spaceship sounds through the speakers. Instead, the Luce drivetrain produces a more mechanical electric tone tied to speed and momentum. It sounds unusual at first, but somehow false.

Still, if your concept of Ferrari perfection involves an old 812 superfast screeching in the direction of redline, this car can’t replace it emotionally .

Nothing will be likely.

Luce isn’t trying to recreate antique Ferraris, though. It also feels like Ferrari is trying to prevent the electric future from becoming emotionally flat.

Verdict

The Luce feels significant in a way that most electric cars don’t.

It’s not like the fastest. It probably wasn’t lived the fastest for an awful long time too. This is how electric cars work now. Someone is bound to come along next month with another absurd amount of horsepower.

But Luce has a personality, which are extra things.

You should buy it if you want:

A Ferrari that still feels alive despite being electric
Around 1,000 horsepower without the car becoming emotionally numb
Something comfortable enough for long-distance driving
An EV that still behaves like a proper driver’s car
A Ferrari people will probably reference years from now

You probably shouldn’t buy it if:

You still want the noise and chaos of older V12 Ferraris
Heavy EVs frustrate you during aggressive driving
You hate touch-sensitive interiors
You expect this to replace classic Ferraris emotionally
You want lightweight sports-car purity

The funny thing is, Ferrari never built the Luce to replace the old cars.

Feels more like they built it to protect what made Ferrari special before the electric era turned every performance car into the same silent machine.
