2022 Lamborghini Urus Evo gives the standard facelift protocol – a revised front fascia. Lamborghini hasnt tried hard to hide the SUVs new face, which will receive new horizontal elements in the grille. The automaker will also revamp the rear, giving the Urus Evo a redesigned bumper with reshaped rear fender vents. We havent seen inside the new model, but we expect Lamborghini to make some tweaks. However, we dont how much the company will change inside. All signs point to the Urus Evo using the current 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. It makes 641 horsepower (479 kilowatts) and 628 pound-feet (848 Newton-meters) of torque. Theres a good chance Lamborghini will tweak it to produce a bit more power. The current SUV can hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.6 seconds, and the Urus Evo could be a smidge quicker. Expect the eight-speed gearbox to carry over, too. There are hints that there could be a hotter Urus Evo in development, but well have to wait for more information or a leak. However, we know that Lamborghini plans to electrify the Urus at some point entirely, but it might not happen with this next iteration. Instead, well get a Urus hybrid as the company plans to offer all its models with some form of electric assist by the end of 2024.
On paper, the supercar-bred, 641-hp Lamborghini Urus sounds overmatched against the 707-hp, Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. However, only one of these outrageous machines owns the crown as the quickest SUV weve ever run at Virginia International Raceway in our annual Lightning Lap event. For those who couldn’t guess, its the Lambo, which costs nearly a quarter-million dollars. Thats the entry price to own a wildly styled SUV of this pedigree. Along with unbelievable track skills for its size, the Urus offers some things that the Lamborghini Aventador and Huracán dont: a back seat, useable cargo space, and the ability to tow. While its interior craftsmanship isnt as good as its supercar siblings, and its the very definition of a gas-guzzler, the 2022 Lamborghini Urus is easily the most badass family hauler on the planet. The Urus has three years in the market this year and a mid-cycle refresh was due. Lamborghini didn’t waste any time in putting wheels in motion for a facelifted Urus, and if the rumor mill is right, it will debut under the Urus Evo nameplate.Adding the Evo suffix to one of its models isn’t new for Lamborghini, as it did it a while back with its Huracan entry-level supercar.Lamborghini Urus is the first Super Sport Utility Vehicle in the world to merge the soul of a super sports car with the functionality of an SUV. Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 650 CV and 850 Nm of torque, Urus accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 mph. The design, performance, driving dynamics, and driving emotion flow effortlessly into this visionary approach to Lamborghini DNA
The super SUV is still powered by a 641-hp twin-turbo V-8 that pairs with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Italian automaker is known for introducing limited-edition models and special appearance packs, any of which could be added during the model year.Although the Urus costs close to a quarter of a million dollars, its still the least costly Lamborghini you can buy. Add the fact that it can haul more than two people and an ample amount of luggage and its also the best value in the Italian companys lineup. Our recommended version would play up its highly extroverted style with the new Pearl Capsule appearance package. We especially like it in the Verde Mantis green paint, which is offset by black exterior details and huge 23-inch wheels. The interior color scheme is set to match. Wed add the front seats with ventilation and massage functions for increased luxury, and wed switch to the four-seat configuration that reduces passenger capacity by one but brings rear-seat power adjustments and heated surfaces. We assume rich people dont want to ride three-deep in the back seat anyway. The other options wed choose are the upgraded sound system, hands-free tailgate, rear-seat entertainment system, and the available Off-Road drive modes. The Urus is powered by a twin-turbo V-8 that makes a stout 641 horsepower, burbles deeply when idling, and howls under full throttle. Permanent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission conspire with all that power to enable fantastic acceleration. In our testing, the Urus went from rocketed to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and tore up the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. Likewise, Lamborghini estimates a top speed of 190 mph. The Urus feels athletic from behind the wheel, too, with quick steering and stable high-speed cornering. With air springs at all four corners, the Urus has adjustable ride heights based on its various drive modes. Standard carbon-ceramic brakes ensure that the Urus stops as well as it goes—braking from 70 mph to a stop in 149 feet.On the visual front, the Urus Evo won’t depart from the current edgy approach. Expect, however, certain retouches here and there, especially areas such as the front grille, headlights, rear end, and taillights. A couple of new wheel designs might also be on the table, together with new body colors. As far as the interior is concerned, again, there’s no reason for Lamborghini to alter the current state of affairs. Sure, the Italians could pump some more tech features into the Urus Evo, and add some new trim options and new materials, but that should be about it.A declaration of freedom, Urus enables you to discover any terrain, from track to sand, ice, gravel, or rocks. It is the absolute all-around super sports car and more. It allows you to explore new paths and new ways to express yourself—to accept challenges confidently and to live life to the fullest. You are not afraid to go far: this is what you aspire to. Unlock any road, and unlock your personality. Those wealthy enough to afford a Urus likely dont care about fuel economy, but Lamborghinis heaviest model sure likes to drink. The EPA estimates that the Urus will deliver 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. While we havent tested its real-world mpg on our 200-mile highway fuel-economy route, its mileage will certainly vary based on driving style.
The Lamborghini Urus combines the thrill of a sports car with the form and function of an SUV, creating a truly unique vehicle that you will love driving around Hudson County. The Urus features a V-8 engine that generates 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. It also has standard all-wheel drive to give it extra traction, and an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. With a zero-to-60 miles per hour time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 miles per hour, the Urus presents a uniquely thrilling driving experience that you simply wont get in any other SUV.
