There's a reason NIO's high-end electric cars go for as much as a Tesla or a BMW, since they are one of the most innovative EVs in a country that is awash with electric vehicle startups now. Yes, we are talking about China and its goldrush to establish an E-mobility dominance via a combination of government subsidies and billionaire egos. Actually, this market sounds just like the one in the U.S., where companies like Rivian that have only delivered two vehicles so far, have a sky-high valuation based on promises alone. Well, NIO is apparently preparing to conquer the American market, too, after making it in Europe, if several recent job postings on LinkedIn are any indication.
Tesla Rival Nio Reportedly Prepares for U.S. Entry, Ramps Up Hiring ,Nio began its international expansion this year when it announced plans to build four battery swap stations around Oslo, Norway with 12 more planned in other cities in 2022.The news comes a few weeks after the Shanghai-based company said it plans to enter Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden in 2022, and reach 25 countries by 2025, at its annual Nio Day event.

Head of power strategy: Develop and articulate a clear view of the regulations and the incentives governing the US EV charging infrastructure participants and align NIO stakeholders to that view. Develop the pricing strategy for NIO’s power offerings, detailing how NIO’s capabilities can optimize all components of the system, including energy purchase, acquisition, storage, and delivery.
Head of user infrastructure construction and readiness: Develop a detailed infrastructure readiness plan for each infrastructure category, aligned with business objectives and budgets. Secure executive approval for the plan, and drive the execution of the plan. From site selection to final completion, own the infrastructure build out process and plans to ensure that the final build out completely represents the design vision and expectations.
The US branch of Chinese automaker NIO continues to make interesting moves in North America, as the company signed a ten year lease on a building in San Jose, CA. The new 200,000+ sq. ft. US headquarters is more than double the size of NIO’s current footprint, signaling that a long speculated entry into the North America could be one stop closer to becoming reality.

As the Head, User Infrastructure Construction & Readiness, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of key NIO infrastructure in the Americas, to support NIO’s business model and user experiences. Founded in 2014 in Shanghai, China, Nio has quickly grown to become a major industry player, establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of electric vehicles and self-driving technology. Boasting over 2,000 employees spread out over 13 locations globally, Nio is known for creations like Eve, a forward-thinking autonomous concept, and the ES8, a seven-passenger high-performance all-electric SUV, as well as its involvement in the Formula E championship with powertrain support for the Nio 003 race car. However, the start-up is best known for this – the EP9, a highN performance all-electric speed machine aimed squarely at all things quick and internal combustion-propelled. Inspired by the FIA’s Le Mans Prototype regulations, the Nio EP9 is street legal, but has made a name for itself setting some very impressive records on the track, including a sprint around the Nurburgring’s north loop in just 6 minutes, 45 seconds, a run around the Circuit Paul Ricard in 1 minute 52.78 seconds, and a lap of the Circuit of the Americas in 2 minutes 1.11 seconds. Granted, these records were done on track-only slick tires, but it’s impressive stuff all the same.
