The 2023 Toyota C-HR is one of Toyota’s smallest and lowest-priced crossover SUVs. The 2023 model year marks the sixth year of production. While Toyota hasn’t announced any official changes, we don’t expect any major updates for 2023. A redesign would normally be in the cards, but Toyota’s recent introduction of the Corolla Cross complicates things as the two models essentially compete against each other. The C-HR feels its age when stacked up against most rivals, Corolla Cross included. It has a higher base price than most of the competition and lacks some of the features we expect from this class of SUVs. The Chevrolet Trailblazer, Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, and Volkswagen Taos are all strong options. Check out our Expert Rating below to learn more about the C-HR’s hits and misses. It’s time for the tiny Toyota C-HR to get a makeover to better compete against rivals like the Honda HR-V. Rumors suggest that the 2023 Toyota C-HR could be revamped for this model year.
We hope that the 2023 Toyota C-HR debuts with a brand-new style. Otherwise, we might have to wait until 2024 for its redesign. Plus, the images display features that remind us of the current C-HR, including a two-door cabin. The images look like the C-HR has a more modern and confident design with C-shaped headlights, a larger grille, and sharper taillights. It features a two-tone color scheme like the current C-HR too. It’s hard to determine what the 2023 Toyota C-HR will bring to the table. The updates could get pushed back until 2024 too. But we know it should feature an updated look with a revamped interior. We haven’t found any clues about its power train options. However, rumors about the C-HR going hybrid and fully electric are floating around. The 2022 model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque. It could use a power boost and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 10 seconds. That’s adequate but requires extra time for passing others on the highway. The C-HR isn’t available with all-wheel drive, and the Kia Soul isn’t either. But AWD is available with the Honda HR-V. Perhaps Toyota’s most bold design yet, the CH-R is a sharp-looking vehicle that signifies its first real foray into the compact SUV category. This recently released model from the Japanese manufacturer wouldn’t look out of place on a list of the trendiest vehicles going around. Just one glance at the CH-R should let you sense that you’re in for a treat. It’s spacious, comfortable, and brimming with the value from top to bottom. Motorists may choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains, in addition to a slightly more premium version of the CH-R, called the Koba. The latter feature larger tires with more grip, tinted windows, smart key operation, leather trim, heated front seats, and additional styling options. All of this comes surplus to the standard parking sensors, reversing camera, active cruise control, automatic wipers, and hill-start assistance. Plus, there’s also a host of active safety mechanisms like forwarding collision warning, AEB, rear-cross traffic alerts, and blind-spot monitoring. Few cars offer a safety package as complete as this, not to mention, liberal space and protection for back seat passengers. The Toyota CH-R may be new, but with a raft of features and the backing of its newest vehicle architecture, it has quickly made itself known as a composed drive that can turn dynamic when necessary. The people have spoken, and this isn’t good news for the Toyota C-HR. The Toyota C-HR has plenty of features to celebrate.
