Ford Puma 2024

Recently, Ford offered a glimpse into their plans for the future, revealing a range of electric crossovers, including the Puma EV, set to launch in the near future. The Puma EV is slated for release next year, and it will be produced at Ford’s plant in Craiova, Romania, where the ICE Puma is also manufactured.

Recent reports suggest that the Puma EV will utilize the same platform as the E-Transit Courier van, which was unveiled earlier this month. Autocar states that both the Puma EV and the E-Transit Courier will share a 100 kW DC charging capacity, and they are likely to have a 55 kWh battery. Ford revealed that the Puma EV will charge from 10-80% within 35 minutes when using a 100 kW charger, and a 10-minute charge will add around 54 miles (86 km) of range.

Ford may also use the E-Transit Courier’s motor in the Puma EV, at least for one version. In that case, it is expected that the Puma EV will have a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time similar to the Peugeot e-2008, which is currently set at 9 seconds. The Puma EV will compete with the Peugeot e-2008 and the Mini Aceman, among others. The Puma EV will offer multiple powertrain options, including a 181 hp and a 265 hp variant, which will be fitted to different trims.

According to the same source, the Puma EV is expected to offer a range of approximately 230 miles (370 km) on a single charge, which is similar to the e-2008’s range of 212 miles (341 km) from a 50 kWh battery.

The Puma EV will be a crucial vehicle for Ford in Europe, where the ICE Puma has been one of the company’s top-selling cars.
