Bentley has formally entered electric production with the unveiling of its first-ever all-electric vehicle, the Torcal. Torcal is set to complete the 4th edition line of the logo with the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga, and is scheduled to make a formal international public debut in London on September 23.

At nearly 5 meters in length, the Torcal shifts Bentley’s focus to everyday usability instead of absolute excess, and promises to be electric using various over 483 kilometers (about 300 miles). The luxury EV introduces logo-new design language, such as the traditional nando grille putting forward. In profile, the vehicle displays a low, practical stance with muscular rear ends that retain the traditional, efficient silhouette expected of a Bentley, while totally taking advantage of the unique packaging freedoms of a committed electric platform.

Inside the cabin, Torcal propulsion prioritizes perfection and ergonomic simplicity over sensory overload. Bentley has opted for a sophisticated, evolving approach that deliberately avoids the passenger-side display with a curved expensive touchscreen display and, crucially for the traditionalists, saves the plethora of wonderfully machined, physical touch controls internally.
