Latest Update: 2023 NIO ES6 has launched at Shanghai Auto Show this year, with a price tag of $66,600.

The Nio ES6 has undergone a refreshing overhaul, with the new model set to hit the market by the end of this month. While it remains the same vehicle at its core, the updated ES6 is a significant technological upgrade from its predecessor. With the 2023 Nio ES6, the company has adopted an all-new NT2 platform, which has been designed to accommodate larger electric vehicle configurations. However, the ES6 uses the smaller NT2 platform, which it shares with the Nio ET5, and boasts a length of 4.85 meters, making it just 2 cm shorter than the Mercedes EQE SUV.

The ES6 and ET5 share a powertrain, and it is expected that the new model will come with the standard AWD setup of two electric motors, delivering a total output of 360 kW (482 hp). This is a slight reduction in power from the previous model, but it remains to be seen whether Nio will decide to increase the output in the future.

The new ES6 will offer three battery options, with 75 kWh and 100 kWh packs available at launch. Nio also plans to unveil a 150 kWh battery option, which it refers to as "semi-solid," in the near future. The new model’s wheelbase has grown by 15 mm, allowing for more rear legroom, and Nio has pushed the rear seats back for greater comfort.

On the technology front, the ES6 will come equipped with the Intelligent Comfort Braking System, Continuous Damping Control, and Intelligent Chassis Control, providing a more comfortable and smoother ride. The entertainment features include a 23-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system, massage seats for rear passengers, and the latest N-box entertainment system, which incorporates AR technology. The front passenger can even opt for a Zero gravity Queen seat for a more comfortable journey.
