We haven’t seen a Hyundai i10 prototype in quite some time. This compact city car is not available in North America, but it frequently roams the streets of numerous international markets. Our German spies happened to spot this 2024 prototype in public while it was still covered in bulky covers on the front and back to conceal some significant design changes.

What kind of adjustments are we referring to? Through the bulky covers, we can see daytime running lights integrated into the grille’s corners. The refreshed model appears to integrate the round lights into the grille, similar to the Hyundai Tucson. The current model already has round lights in these areas. Even though we believe it will keep its general chevron shape, this suggests that the grille will undergo additional changes. Also, unlike the Elantra, we don’t think it will turn into a single, massive grille that goes all the way to the fascia’s bottom. Although the new vehicle’s corner vents may be narrower, they still appear to be oriented vertically.

The car we first saw with the i10 prototype had a lot of camouflage on the side, but that’s all gone here. That demonstrates that windows, door handles, and doors remain unchanged. The back is still covered by thick covers, but since Hyundai previously covered the sides without good reason, we don’t expect much to change at the rear. The location of the lower fascia’s reflectors and the lenses on the taillights could change. The hatch’s distinctive irregular hexagon design and narrow back glass ought to remain.

You can get a glimpse of the interior by zooming in on a few photos. At this point, it’s not clear what will change, but the layout looks like the one that’s currently in use. The middle touchscreen and instrument group are as yet bundled in a lodging that expands outward from the scramble, yet it is more appealing coordinated. A car with covers on the dashboard was seen in our previous prototype sighting, so it’s likely that there will be some minor adjustments.

The powertrain is not mentioned in any rumors. Due to the fact that this is a mid-cycle refresh, the i10 is likely to continue using either a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a manual transmission. At this point, we anticipate that the new i10 will be unveiled later this year as a model for 2024.
