The new iteration boasts a refreshed aesthetic, characterized by an evolution in styling that aligns with Cadillac’s latest design language. Notable features include the signature slim strip of horizontal lights at the top, coupled with a vertical bar forming an inverted "L" at both ends of the vehicle.

In a departure from the previous design, General Motors’ luxury brand has embraced a slightly boxier look for the XT5, with plans to diversify its offerings. Observant viewers perusing the images on the MIIT website will identify multiple trim levels, each showcasing various alloy wheel designs, some even adorned with eye-catching red brake calipers. While the interior remains undisclosed, speculation points to a potential inclusion of the impressive 33-inch screen setup found in recent Cadillac models like the CT5.

Accompanying the visual reveal are preliminary technical specifications for the China-bound 2025 XT5. The dimensions show an increase in size, measuring 192.4 inches (4888 millimeters) in length, 77 inches (1957 mm) in width, and 66.7 inches (1694 mm) in height. The wheelbase has also grown slightly to 112.7 inches (2863 mm).

Under the hood, the XT5 for the Chinese market will pack a punch with a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivering 227 horsepower. While front-wheel drive comes standard, Cadillac plans to offer more luxurious variants in China equipped with all-wheel drive.

The burning question remains whether Cadillac will extend the release of the next-gen XT5 to the United States. Initially earmarked exclusively for the Chinese market, GM President Mark Reuss announced during the GM Investor Day in 2022. However, recent speculation from GM Authority in late 2023 hinted at a potential shift in plans, suggesting that the revamped model might find its way to North America after all.
