The GLS Class by Mercedes-Benz is receiving a facelift, and the automaker has released a teaser image on its Twitter account to give us a glimpse of what to expect. Although still draped in shadows, the image confirms that the seven-seater SUV will receive updates to its exterior, software, and equipment.

The teaser image only reveals that the front lights will remain the same as in the outgoing model, leaving the extent of the changes up to speculation. However, spy shots of a prototype have already surfaced, hinting at what the updated GLS might look like.

Despite being in its third generation since 2020, Mercedes seems to be taking its time with this mid-cycle refresh. The exterior of the SUV in the spy photos does not show significant changes, with only a thicker front bumper in the lower section. The hotter AMG 63 version’s rear section is still a mystery due to camouflage foil, but hints of an LED strip connecting the taillights have been observed.

While changes in the cabin are expected, Mercedes has yet to provide details on the oily bits. Nonetheless, the facelifted GLS range will soon make its official debut on April 4, 2023. However, the AMG version may take a few more months to arrive and may be available as a 2024 model.
