The unveiling of Nissan’s new Formula E race car marks the transition from the sport’s second-generation vehicles to the "Gen3 Era. "The French company DAMS will no longer serve as a partner for the Japanese company, which will instead field its own team for the 2023 Formula E season.

Nissan’s driver roster has also changed for 2023. Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz take the place of Maximillian Gunther and Sebastien Buemi. Fenestraz, whose Japanese name means "two" and "san" means "three," is the 23rd Nissan vehicle, while Nato is the 17th.
