Crafted by Autodelta, Alfa Romeo’s esteemed performance division, the TZ1 graced the streets from 1963 to 1965, with a mere 112 units ever created. This exclusivity lends an air of rarity and desirability to the vehicle.

However, what truly sets this model apart is the masterful craftsmanship of Italian company Zagato, renowned for their coachbuilding prowess. Employing their signature styling technique known as "coda tronca," which translates to "short tail," Zagato breathed life into the TZ1, creating an aesthetic masterpiece.

For the uninitiated, Zagato continues to collaborate with Alfa Romeo, conjuring up captivating designs. Their latest triumph, the one-of-a-kind Guilia SWB Zagato based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio, showcases their unwavering commitment to automotive artistry. Additionally, other esteemed brands such as Maserati have sought the skills of this illustrious coachbuilder, resulting in the Zagato Maserati Mostro Barchetta, a marvel unveiled just last year.

Returning to the TZ1’s design, this Italian sports car flaunts a sleek two-door coupe body, accentuated by its elongated hood and round headlamps. The car’s advanced features for its time include independent suspension and disc brakes on all four wheels, contributing to its reputation as a "full-blown Italian race car."

The TZ1 made its racing debut at the 1963 FISA Monza Cup, where it immediately asserted its dominance by securing the first four places in the prototype category. Embodying the spirit of competition, this car was built to conquer the racetracks of Europe, leaving its mark on illustrious events such as the Tour de France Automobile, Le Mans, 1,000 km of Nurburgring, and Targa Florio.
