Latest Update: 2024 Volkswagen Atlas unveiled in February 2023, with a price tag of $35,755.

The Volkswagen Atlas has a new appearance as well as some new options. At this year’s Chicago Auto Show, the three-row Atlas and its two-row Atlas Cross counterpart will debut fresh facelifts and upgraded powertrain options as part of their 2024 model year updates.

The new design begins at the front. Larger LED headlights are encircled by a mesh grille that has replaced most of the faux chrome accents from last year with black. Now, a fancy light bar connects the headlights to the hood just above the illuminated VW logo. It’s all brand-new for 2024.

Both models have a roof spoiler that is slightly larger and extends from the backside, and a substantial rear light bar runs across the trunk lid. The new lighting fixture is present in almost every Atlas and Atlas Cross model, with the exception of the base trim, which uses standard taillights at each corner.

For 2024, a brand-new wheel design is added to each Atlas. Depending on how you configure it, sizes range from 18 to 20 inches, with the sporty R-Line opting for the largest 21-inch aluminum alloys. Additionally, the exterior of the Atlas R-Line is accented with gloss black accents and distinctive R-Line badges.

The interior of the 2024 Atlas is also made of better materials, with leatherette instead of hard plastic used for the dash and center console. The same is true for the door panels, which are made from the new materials at the front and back. Additionally, the highest-end Atlas models feature quilted leather seats stitched in a diamond pattern.

The 10.3-inch touchscreen from last year has been replaced by a 12.0-inch "floating" touchscreen, and a new 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster is just ahead of the driver. Everywhere, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, and the refreshed cabin has six USB-C and two USB-A ports for wireless charging so that everyone can charge.

VW’s IQ.Drive driver assistance technology is now standard across the board in terms of safety. Automatic braking, lane-centering assistance, and other features fall under this category. A head-up display and adaptive cruise control, on the other hand, remain optional extras.
