The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class lineup starts with the front-wheel-drive CLA 250 and the all-wheel-drive CLA 250 4Matic. Both models feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 221 horsepower (165 kilowatts). The powertrain has been updated with a 48-volt electrical system and a belt-driven starter-generator that provides an additional 13 horsepower (10 kilowatts) for smooth acceleration when the start-stop system turns off the engine.

The updated Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class models feature a redesigned front fascia, with a new star pattern for the mesh in the center grille, and updated headlights with new graphics. The rear of the vehicle has been updated with a new diffuser design. The vehicles come in new color options Hyper Blue and Starling Blue and there are three additional wheel designs.

On the inside, the vehicles come standard with 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment display, and the MBUX software has new Classic, Sporty, and Discreet display styles. The steering wheel is made of Nappa leather, and a heated version is an option. The cabin trim choices have been updated and include dark carbon-look material, open-pore brown linden wood, or brown microfiber. The optional Burmester stereo now includes Dolby Atmos functionality.

The Parking Package comes standard and includes a 360-degree camera view. Additionally, the available Driver Assistance Package has been updated to improve the steering control for the lane-keep assist system.

The AMG lineup of the CLA includes the 35 and 45 S models, both of which feature a 48-volt electrical system and belt-driven starter-generator. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the 35 model remains at 302 horsepower and is now paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The 45 S model has an increased output of 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, while retaining its 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.0 seconds.

In addition to the upgraded powertrain, the AMG CLA models also feature a new front fascia, revised graphics on the headlights and taillights, and new wheel designs. The 45 S is available with the AMG Aerodynamics Package Plus that includes a fixed rear spoiler. The 35 model offers three new wheel designs, including 10-spoke, 18-inch wheels with a high-gloss black finish and machined surfaces, and a 19-inch option with five pairs of spokes in machined surfaces or a machined rim. The 45 model comes standard with the 19-inch design with machined surfaces, with the other 19-inch look being optional. The interior of the CLA AMG models has new upholstery options including Sage Grey and Black MB-Tex or an optional combo of Red and Black leather, and features open-pore brown linden wood trim and an updated steering wheel with two stacked spokes at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions.
