Latest Update: 2027 Chery Omoda C9 launched in May 2026, starts at $18,400.

The 2027 Cherry Omoda C9 Refresh is a midsize SUV that can be had in both petrol and plug-in hybrid versions. The petrol model uses a 2.0-litre faster engine, while the PHEV model pairs the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor for a strong mixed output and a top speed of 120 km/h.

While it may seem sharper than before, updates are generally more subtle. Cherry says the freshness gets a coefficient of drag of 0.307, plus a Knight Edition for petrol trim with Michelin tyres, blacked-out styling, purple brake calipers and suede roof lining

Inside, Cherry pushes comfort and airy first class as huge driving forces. The firm says the cabin now strives for a cleansing, more energizing feel, claiming 0 formaldehyde, 0 odours, 0 allergens and 0 benzene.

On the safety side, Cherry says that over 85% of the chassis is made of high-strength metal, and the PHEV battery has been upgraded to a new LFP % rated for over 5,000 cycles.
